Abu-Ghazaleh Receives Director of UNRWA Affairs in Jordan

AMMAN
- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global
(TAG.Global), received in his office the  Director of the United Nations
Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Jordan, Ms. Marta
Lorenzo.

During
the meeting, the two sides discussed means of cooperation between UNRWA and
TAG.Global, particularly in organizing  joint program to empower
Palestinian children technologically in order to become digital citizens.

Ms.
Lorenzo praised the achievements of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh who started his life as a
Palestinian refugee; and was one of the first beneficiaries of UNRWA's
educational support program for Palestine refugees in 1956, where he received a
scholarship to get a bachelor's degree at the American
University of Beirut (AUB).

Moreover,
Ms. Lorenzo affirmed her pride in the services and programs provided by
TAG.Global for people in the UNRWA refugee camps and applauded its role in
empowering and providing young people with the necessary knowledge.

She
also expressed UNRWA's interest in drawing on TAG.Global’s expertise; both in
the areas of digital transformation and education, to keep abreast with the
current global conditions such as the repercussions of the Coronavirus
(COVID-19) pandemic which negatively affected Palestinian students who suffer
harsh conditions in camps and schools.

For
his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh affirmed the importance of UNRWA’s role and its
continued vital and important support to Palestine refugees, pointing out the
importance of donor countries support to enable UNRWA to continue its mission.

Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh stressed that the world is still at the beginning of digital
transformation phases, which would continue until the end of this Century. He
further emphasized the importance of the media in raising awareness on
digital transformation and in promoting digital services, especially in light
of the real gap in delivering these digital services to community members as
the need for digital transformation is increasing day by day.

He
reviewed the integrated digital transformation services offered by TAG.Global’s
specialized Digital Transformation Consulting Department to numerous
institutions.

Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh also referred to ‘All for Palestine Society’, which was founded on
September 17, 2011, in Paris to document the names of elite Palestinian
personalities, women and men around the world in a reliable and up-to-date
database. Accordingly, the database will help those who seek to conduct a
thorough study about the history of Palestinian achievers who managed to make
exceptional achievements in various fields and sectors, and positively enriched
and contributed to human civilization.

At
the end of the meeting, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said he believes that "creativity
is born from the womb of suffering", and that Palestinian achievements in
and outside Palestine are evident everywhere in the world despite the
challenges of displacement they face at all levels.
