December‘Abu-Ghazaleh for Quality Assurance in Education’ and Ramah Center for Research and Studies Hold Int’l Scientific Conference
AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Quality Assurance in
Education (TAG-EDUQA), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global),in
cooperation with Ramah Center for Research and Studies, has convened a
two-day international scientific conference entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence
in Education: Prospects and Challenges’ at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum
(TAG-KF).
In his opening address, HE Dr. Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of TAG.Global, Chair of the conference has
stated that the democracy of Artificial Intelligence (AI) necessitates making
it accessible to all learners. He, therefore, called on all teachers and
instructors to embrace AI and acknowledge its ability in improving and
enriching teaching and learning processes.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh also affirmed that
instructors play a pivotal role in supporting students throughout their
educational journey, stressing the need to constantly develop their skills to
maintain such a role within the educational process.
He pointed out that AI should be
considered as an additional tool of the teachers’ teaching toolkit, calling for
the establishment of AI-driven schools across all educational levels, starting
from kindergarten to doctorate levels, with a focus on integrating AI into
education.
At the closing of his address, Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his gratitude to the attendees including university
presidents and scholars from various universities and academic institutions, as
well as representatives from local and regional schools.
For his part, Ramah Center Director
General and Vice-Chair of the conference, Dr. Khaled Al-Khatib, has expressed
his deep gratitude to TAG-EDUQA, represented by
its Chair, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, for its dedicated efforts in promoting culture of
quality assurance in education in accordance with the international standards.
Dr. Al-Khatib, further, praised the scientific
partnership between TAG- EDUQA and Ramah Center in disseminating culture of
scientific research, management of scientific journals, as well as organizing
conferences and seminars.
He also expressed pride in launching
‘Ramah for Young Researchers Journal’ in partnership with the Arab Journal for
Quality Education under the patronage of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, with the aim of
enhancing the role of Arab scientific researchers.
Meanwhile, Dr. Maria Tawalbeh, TAG-EDUQA
executive director, indicated that organizing conferences comes as part of the
ongoing efforts for enhancing the role of technology in education.
She added that the gathering aimed at
developing effective educational systems by exploring the best local and
international practices in this field, while maximizing the potential of AI in
advancing education.
Dr. Tawalbeh went on to say that, the
conference represents a great opportunity to boost collaboration between
scientific researchers and educational institutions, encouraging the adoption
of innovative techniques and strategies that meet the needs of the Knowledge
Age.
On the sidelines of the conference, Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh inaugurated the Robotics Expo, which witnessed active
participation from the International Intelligence Schools, whose students
showcased their pioneering experience in integrating robots into the
educational process.
Additionally, the booth of STEAM Research and Educational Center along with
the Arab Robotics and AI Association have all participated in the Expo by
displaying outstanding AI Robotic-based advanced educational products. This
aimed at improving innovative thinking and practical skills among students of
all grade levels.
Other exhibits included interactive
prototypes of robot applications in the fields of science, technology,
engineering and math, displaying the potentials of technology in education,
which impressed the audience.
It is worth mentioning that the conference
served as a scientific platform that brought together elite experts,
researchers and academics from all over the world with the aim of exploring the
potentials of AI in improving the quality of education and discussing
challenges that encounter its implementation.
The conference crystallizes
the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, as articulated in
the 7th Discussion Paper, in which His Majesty asserted that
building our human capacities through quality education and enhancing its
outcomes is our gateway to the future.
The conference also discussed various
topics that shed light on opportunities of using AI in education, underlining
also the importance of achieving the objectives that contribute to the
development of education through investing in AI.
