DecemberAbu-Ghazaleh Honored with the ‘Global Leader for Just Peace Medal’ by the Universal Peace Council
AMMAN
- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global
(TAG.Global); a well-known Arab economist and prominent businessman, has welcomed
in his TAG.Global’s headquarters office a delegation from the Universal Peace
Council led by its President, Sheikh Kasem Bader.
During
the meeting, the delegation presented Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh with the ‘Global Leader
for Just Peace Medal’ in recognition of his leadership, inspirational vision,
and his commitment humanitarian values, justice and sustainable peace.
In
response, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh had expressed his pride in this honor, emphasizing
the importance of efforts for promoting peace on the regional and global scale,
but peace should always be based on Justice.
He
stated that values such as justice, individual rights protection, and
respecting international law and global institutions are essential
prerequisites for achieving peace.
Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh further highlighted that working toward peace is a sacred and
noble human mission appreciated by all Arab peoples.
He
also commended the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein in
achieving peace in the region and the world, noting that the Hashemite family
is a source of inspiration for all those seeking peace and justice.
For
his part, Sheikh Bader praised the significant contributions of Dr.
Abu-Ghazaleh in serving humanity, social justice, and protecting human
rights.
He
said that the Council has the honor to bestow the Just Peace Leader Honorary
Medal to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, noting that the same medal was awarded last year to
His Holiness Pope Francis for his role in promoting global peace. Additionally,
he stated that Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh is one of the personalities who embodies the
values of peace and justice throughout his philanthropic endeavors.
In
addressing Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh directly , Sheikh Bader said: “Your career journey,
marked by supporting education and innovation, and defending human rights, has
extended beyond the Arab region to positively impact development and human
progress worldwide. Your wise vision and tireless contributions to building
sustainable communities are a source of inspiration for everyone striving for
positive change.”
The
ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Issam Al-Masaeed,
chairman of 'Knights of Change for Political Development and Civil Society;
Retired Maj. Gen. Dr. Abdullah Al-Hasanat, and chair of the Namaa Party’s
Central Council; in addition to Peace Ambassadors Mr. Ihab Abu Saada, Mr.
Mohammad Heisawi, and Ms. Tasneem Salameh; along with legal expert and lawyer
Ms. Husn Abu Rumman; Chairman of Point Zero App’s Board of Directors, Mr.
Muneer Al-Odaili; and Ms. Ithar Mohammad.
