‘Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum’, With Jordan ‘Juvenile and Family Protection Department’ Organize Awareness Seminar

AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum
(TAG-KF), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), has organized an
awareness seminar entitled “Safe Family and the Impact of Internet and Media on
Family and Children,’ jointly with the Juvenile and Family Protection
Department at the Public Security Directorate (PSD).

TAG-KF’s participation in this event comes
as part of TAG.Global’s contribution, as directed by its Chairman, Dr. Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh, in support of various Jordanian institutions’ efforts to protect
society and ensure public safety. The seminar is considered one of the national
programs conducted by the Directorate, towards this goal.

During the seminar, participants discussed
various topics related to safe families and proper parenting. They  briefed the attendees on the department’s services
and procedures in case of receiving domestic violence reports, in order to
protect against crimes, violence, drugs, and other wrongdoings. This is in
addition to other methods for promoting moderation, security and peace.

The seminar targeted local community and
youth institutions. It was translated into sign language by the president of
the Board of Directors of the first Jordanian Association for Sign Language
Interpreters, Mr. Usama Altahrawi.

The Juvenile and Family Protection Department aims to strengthen the
protection system by providing specialized security and sectoral services based
on the needs of the abused without discrimination, in cases of domestic
violence, violence against children, gender-based violence, sexual assault, and
juvenile delinquency. This is done in a way that achieves the best interest of
the family and the child through qualified and specialized cadres using the
latest technologies and the highest standards of privacy and confidentiality.
