BEIRUT – The Speaker of the
Lebanese Parliament, HE Mr. Nabih Berri, has received HE Dr. Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), at
the headquarters of the Second Presidency in Ain El-Tineh. Dr. Abu Ghazaleh was
accompanied accompanied by Mr. Salah Abu
Osbeh, chair of TAG.Global’s Group Management Board, and Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar,
representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Culture and Media in Lebanon.
During the meeting the two sides exchanged views on economic, social, and
geopolitical issues in Lebanon and the region.

The meeting was also attended by
the MENA EdTech Alliance President, Dr. Rabie Baalbaki, and the Vice-President
of the Alliance for International Partnerships and Relations Coordinator, Ms.
Nora Al-Murabi, as well as Dr. Nadim Mansouri. 

During the meeting, Mr. Berri
expressed his thanks to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for the initiatives he is launching in
Lebanon that serve the community, based on the agreements signed with the
American University of Technology (AUT), Ministry of Culture, Ministry of
Labor, and the National Social Security Fund. That is in addition to
inaugurating Knowledge Stations at the branches of the Lebanese University in
Hadath, Fanar, Tripoli, and at the Lebanese National Library in Beirut to
disseminate digital knowledge. 

The issue of securing free Internet
access to all Knowledge Stations to be inaugurated in Lebanon by TAG.Global was
also addressed, where Mr. Berri confirmed his support and cooperation in this
field.

For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh extended his
gratitude to Lebanon, which he expressed pride of as his second homeland,
affirming his readiness for cooperation in the areas of digital transformation
and knowledge economy.
