September‘Abu-Ghazaleh Global’ and Iraqi Federation of Industries Sign Cooperation Agreement
AMMAN - Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global
(TAG.Global) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Iraqi
Federation of Industries (IFI) to cooperate in serving the Federation and
investments in the country.
The MoU was signed by HE Dr. Talal
Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of TAG.Global, and Mr. Adil Okab, IFI
president.
The signed agreement provides for
exchanging varied expertise activities
supporting the Federation’s investment efforts in Iraq. This can be
achieved by establishing a joint training center to organize and conduct
training courses for industrialists; cooperating in marketing and implementing
of e-archiving systems, as well as in the provision of ISO services to
industrial companies and barcode services.
The agreement also covers other areas of
cooperation such as ERP systems, consulting services, the preparation of Iraq's
standard specifications for quality management in the industry, and the
management of smart industrial cities.
During the signing ceremony held at
TAG.Global’s headquarters, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed the Organization’s pride
in cooperating with the Iraqi institutions in general, but particularly with
the Federation, under the successful
leadership of Mr. Okab. He further pointed out that Iraq is the country of
creativity and civilization throughout history; noting that the establishment
of accounting concept dates back to this great country, as videnced by the
first accounting records that have been discovered in Mesopotamia.
For his part, Mr. Okab expressed his pride
and appreciation for cooperating with Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh, describing him as the
prominent influential Arab economist whose achievements and success became
evident to all. He, hence, affirmed the Federation’s confidence in the success
of this cooperation attributed to the level of creativity and success
TAG.Global has been always keen to maintain.
Finally, and to serve industrial companies
based in Iraq, the two parties agreed on establishing a new Abu-Ghazaleh
Intellectual Property (AGIP) office at the Federation premises. The core
mission of this office is to become a focal link between companies and the
registrar of inventions at Iraq’s Ministry of Industry and Minerals, for the
purpose of registering and protecting the intellectual property rights of
industrial companies in Iraq (protecting the company’s trade name, product and
industrial model).
